Over-the-counter test can tell your baby’s gender

This new test can tell the baby’s gender by the tenth week of pregnancy, with 78-80 % accuracy. Up to now, moms needed to wait about 20 weeks to find out the gender, unless they did CVS, which happens between weeks ten and twelve.
We actually found out at 12 weeks through an ultrasound, but well, our son was a bit of a showoff. As the ultrasound tech said, “Oh, very proud boy.”

I am skeptical of this product. There are only testimonials on their website, where is the actual data. A quick google search turns up plenty of forums where this tests yeilded inaccurate results. Without this product we have a 50/50 chance of being right in guessing.

I too am skeptical. The company won’t reveal anything about the methods because of patent pending. They could be protecting proprietary info. But I’m still awaiting more info.

Yes, good catch. The website says:
“…the test is designed as a fun, positive pre-birth experience for the parents-to-be. IntelliGender does not recommend test users to make any financial, emotional or family planning decisions based on the test results.”
Hm…so it’s just for fun but they advertise that it is predictive. And what about the financial decision you made to spend $35 on it? Too bad!

So you mean you could, I don’t know, tie a wedding ring onto a string and swing it over the bump? But wedding rings are pretty expensive

I assumed that they aren’t going to release their methods b/c of patent. But maybe some actual proof of their claims. Show us your numbers or tell us about the research. Anytime there are only anecdotes I am skeptical.
