Want to know your baby’s total lifetime number of diaper changes?

There’s an app for that.
Somehow while surfing around tonight, I came across an ad for a software program called Trixie Tracker.
Trixie Tracker was invented by stay-at-home-dad Ben MacNeill to so he could take better care of his new daughter. He knew there was a daily schedule and wanted to understand it, but it was too difficult to keep track of all the little baby care details.
That’s where Trixie Tracker software comes in. It keeps track of the details for you and connects the dots in ways that reveal incredibly helpful patterns over time.
So as you’re going about your day, taking care of a baby, you enter every single detail of baby care into the Trixie Tracker database. What time did you put the baby down for a nap? Was the attempt successful? How many ounces of milk did the baby drink? Is that the same amount as the day before? From all this information, you then have the ability to create “visually striking charts.”
I can’t quite decide if this is the most awesome program ever, or if it’s just completely wacky.

Haha! And even wackier is the left/right nursing app truncated below it. It’s ultra important for a dad to know these things ….

I actually did something similar with a spreadsheet when my first was a newborn. It gave me a sense of control I think. Then I learnt to just go with the flow and we all coped much better!

Fingers crossed that’s it’s awesome. I found this a while back myself . . . there’s something about collecting data on my newborn that I find oddly appealing . . . I mean, I live the rest of my life through data-based decision-making, so it’s only logical. In fact, on the list of things to do before leaving for the hospital (I’m due next week), “Download Trixie Tracker” is printed. I can report back some time between now and the beginning of July!
