Scientific American Takes on Pregnancy Myths
I love a quick, informative slideshow and this one doesn’t disappoint. Scientific American investigates the science behind some of the common pregnancy myths and wives’ tales. For example, is heartburn a sign that your baby will have hair? Do overweight mothers give birth to overweight babies? Do pregnant women eat more when having a boy?
(Answers: Most likely, yes, and yes. But there’s more so follow the link!)

Wow, I loved that! It’s too funny that the heartburn one turned out to be true. I heard that a lot when I was pregnant, because I did have awful heartburn. Our son was born with hair, but not much, so I figured that whole thing was a myth. Anecdotal evidence!

What about the one where if you don’t look beautiful during the pregnancy it’s a girl stealing your good looks, but if you do look beautiful, then it’s a boy?
